
Ghana international Kwasi Sibo has turned his attention to Real Oviedo following an impressive debut for the Black Stars in the 2026 World Cup qualifying game against Mali.
The 27-year-old bulky midfielder earned a late call up to join the Black Stars and walked straight into the starting line up as Ghana narrowly triumphed over Mali to secure maximum points at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday night.
Spartak Moscow new recruit, Alexander Djiku emerged as the hero for the Black Stars after netting the only goal of the match to snatch victory for the host.
“I thank Ghanaians for the massive support on my debut. I do appreciate. It time to go and do club work. I will be back soon” he said.
Ghana sit top of Group I with 19 points after eight matches into the qualification series, and just one victory away from sealing a place at the global showpiece.
Otto Addo’s men return to action in October against the Central African Republic, where a win will mathematically guarantee qualification.
Sibo played a huge role to help Real Oviedo secure promotion to the Spanish La Liga last season, playing over 46 matches for the club.
This season, the bulky midfielder has featured in all three matches for the club in the Spanish top-flight.
