Chad head coach Raoul Savoy has expressed confidence that Ghana will secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars currently top Group I with 16 points from seven matches, leaving them well-positioned with three games remaining in the qualifiers.
Ghana, however, dropped two points in their recent Matchday 7 encounter in N’Djamena, as Celestine Ecau cancelled out Jordan Ayew’s early strike, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
Savoy believes that any failure for the four-time African champions to advance would be a major setback.
“It will be a big failure if Ghana fails to qualify because they are now in a good position, and it will be a mess if they fail to qualify from this group because I think the other teams are not ready for this World Cup," he told GhanaSportsPage.com.
"I tip Ghana to qualify over other teams; if not, it will be a professional failure,” Savoy added.
The Black Stars now turn their attention to Monday’s Matchday 8 clash against Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
A win will keep Ghana’s World Cup ambitions on track as they aim to maintain their lead in the group.
