Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, has visited the Black Stars camp in Accra to rally support for the team as they prepare for Monday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali.
The Minister’s presence was aimed at boosting morale and underscoring government’s commitment to the national side ahead of what is expected to be a decisive fixture.
The visit comes just days after Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw by Chad in N’Djamena. Captain Jordan Ayew’s early strike had given Otto Addo’s men the lead, but a last-minute equaliser denied the Black Stars maximum points.
Despite that setback, Ghana remain top of Group I with 16 points from seven games, three points ahead of Madagascar and four clear of Mali.
The Black Stars will host Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, at 19:00 GMT. A victory would edge Ghana closer to qualification with two matches left to play.
