English-Ghanaian defender Travis Akomeah has shared his excitement after sealing a move to lower-tier club Gillingham FC.
The 19-year-old centre-back joins the League Two outfit from Watford on loan until January 2026 and is expected to continue his development at the club.
Akomeah, who rejoined the Hornets earlier this year following his departure from Chelsea, joins the Gills until the New Year and could make his league debut this weekend.
Having arrived at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, the English-Ghanaian defender has shared his joy, while he look up to gaining experience at the club.
“I am really excited to be here. It's my first loan so I am looking to get men's Football experience and help the team.
"I would say I was versatile; I am calm and composed in possession. Everyone as a collective has been very welcoming." He said.
The English-Ghanaian defender featured twice for Chelsea in last season’s Vertu Trophy, playing the full 90 minutes at Bromley before coming on as a second-half substitute against Charlton in October 2024.
Akomeah has been handed with the number 15 jersey at Gillingham. The move presents an opportunity for young Ghanaian defender to gain valuable experience.
