Great Olympics board member, Kudjoe Fianoo, insists the club can be proud of their display despite a narrow 1-0 defeat to city rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2025 Democracy Cup.
Fianoo shared his thoughts following the game, which took place at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday night.
The highly anticipated encounter was graced by President John Dramani Mahama, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, and Ga Mantse King Tackie Tsuru II.
The Dade boys, who are preparing for the upcoming Access Bank Division One League campaign, held their own against the Phobians, who came into the clash battle-hardened after a busy preseason that included appearances in the President’s Cup, Gbese Mantse Cup, and the GHALCA Top 4.
“It was a good game for us, a good test for us. This is our first outing coming straight from the offseason and playing this top-notch game. I think that we’ve given a very good account of ourselves,” Fianoo remarked.
He further praised the performance of his side given the circumstances, adding, “They [Hearts of Oak] have been tried and tested, they’ve been very busy this offseason. This is our first outing and I’m so happy with what I’ve seen.”
