Bibiani GoldStars have strengthened their frontline with the acquisition of Burkinabé striker Razack Sanou from FC Salitas.
The move, according to Chief Executive Officer Kwasi Adu, is aimed at addressing weaknesses in the team’s attack exposed during recent matches.
Speaking in an interview shared on Kessben TV’s Facebook page, Adu highlighted the lack of depth that became evident in their game against Asante Kotoko.
Striker Samuel Atta Kumi was forced off in the 34th minute with an injury, leaving Sampson Eduku to battle Kotoko’s defense alone. Adu admitted Eduku’s size made it difficult for him to compete effectively against the physically imposing defenders.
“When Atta Kumi went out, it left only Sampson Eduku upfront, and given his stature compared to the Kotoko defenders, he was somewhat bullied,” Adu said.
The Goldstars CEO noted that Sanou’s physical presence will provide the side with a different attacking edge, particularly in aerial duels.
“Fortunately, we’ve brought on a tall Burkinabé player, Razack Sanou, from FC Salitas. We’re hoping he’ll gel with the team and support us upfront, especially in aerial duels,” he added.
