Former Asante Kotoko and Karela United centre-back Maxwell Agyemang has completed a move to Hohoe United, penning a two-year contract with newly promoted side.
Agyemang, who previously featured in the Ghana Premier League with both Kotoko and Karela, brings valuable experience and solidity to Hohoe United’s backline as the club continues to strengthen ahead of the new campaign.
The commanding defender first rose to prominence at Kotoko, where his aerial strength and defensive awareness earned him recognition among the Porcupine Warriors’ faithful. After leaving Kumasi, he had a spell with Karela United, adding further Premier League minutes to his career before now making the switch to Division One.
For Hohoe United, the capture of Agyemang is seen as a major statement of intent. The club is determined to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for promotion, and the defender’s leadership qualities are expected to be crucial in that journey.
Agyemang still has plenty to offer, and the two-year deal gives him the platform to not only stabilize Hohoe United’s defense but also rediscover the form that once made him a highly-regarded figure in Ghanaian football circles.
Fans in Hohoe will now look forward to seeing their new signing marshal the defense when the new season kicks off.
