Former Karela United forward Giyasu Ibrahim has completed a move to Togolese giants AS OTR, signing a one-year contract with the Lomé-based club.
The 29-year-old attacker, known for his agility and direct style of play, will now look to make his mark in the Togolese top flight after several seasons in the Ghana Premier League. His move represents a fresh challenge as he seeks to revive his career and bring firepower to AS OTR’s frontline.
Club officials in Lomé believe Ibrahim’s addition will strengthen their attack ahead of the new campaign, especially given his experience in Ghana’s competitive league.
For the player, the deal is an opportunity to showcase his talent outside Ghana and potentially open the door for bigger moves in the sub-region.
Ibrahim, who previously featured prominently for Karela United, expressed his delight after putting pen to paper and promised to give his best for the club.
The move also continues the trend of Ghanaian footballers plying their trade in Togo, further highlighting the growing football link between the two neighboring countries.
