Ghanaian defender Ebenezer Annan will miss the Black Stars’ upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali after sustaining an injury.
The 23-year-old is expected to be sidelined for three weeks and will therefore not be included in the squad for the crucial matches.
Annan, who was tipped for a call-up, picked up the setback during Saint-Ãtienne’s Ligue 2 clash with US Boulogne.
His absence comes as a blow, with Ghana aiming to secure vital points to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The left-back joined Saint-Ãtienne this summer from Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade, signing a three-year contract. Though ruled out, Annan will be supporting his teammates from afar as they look to keep Ghana’s qualification hopes on track.
