Ghanaian international Alexander Djiku has emerged as a key transfer target for French side Lille this summer, with negotiations already underway with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 club is making significant progress in its bid to secure the experienced defender on loan.
Djiku, who joined Fenerbahçe in 2023, remains under contract with the Istanbul club until June 2026. However, Lille are hopeful of convincing the Turkish side to sanction a temporary deal as they look to reinforce their defensive options.
Les Dogues officials, behind the scenes, are working tirelessly to strengthen the squad for the long season ahead. Djiku’s leadership qualities, versatility and experience in both French and international football make him an attractive option for the northern outfit.
If the move materialises, the Black Stars centre-back would return to Ligue 1, where he previously impressed during spells with Strasbourg and Caen, bringing added solidity to Lille’s back line.
