Hearts of Oak centre-back Ransford Mensah has boldly declared that the Phobians will not rely on penalties to win the upcoming Homowo Cup clash against Heart of Lions on Sunday, August 17.
Recalling last year’s dramatic shootout victory in the first edition, Mensah said the team is determined to get the job done in regulation time this year.
He credited their preparation and the tactical guidance of their coach as key reasons for their confidence.
"We need to win it for Hearts of Oak supporters. During the first edition we won on penalties and we are grateful to God. However, we want to win in regulation time this time in the second edition," Mensah stated.
The defender also sent a passionate appeal to fans: "We are really prepared and ready for the game. I plead with the fans to come to the stadium in their numbers."
With such conviction, the Phobians look set for a show of dominance in this year’s highly anticipated contest.
