Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has admitted that he could not turn down Atalanta's offer, stressing that it was an unmissable opportunity.
The former FC Nordsjaelland attacker joined the Serie A side on a long-term deal, which could rise to £18m from Southampton this summer.
Speaking to the club’s media team, Sulemana revealed he had no hesitation when the Bergamo-based side came calling.
“I’m very excited to play in the Champions League. When Atalanta called, I had no doubts,” the 22-year-old said.
“This is one of the best clubs in Italy in recent years, I couldn’t say no. It was an unmissable opportunity," he added.
Atalanta, who secured Champions League qualification after a strong domestic campaign, have been one of Italy’s most consistent sides in recent seasons, earning praise for their attacking style of play and player development.
Sulemana, known for his blistering pace and flair on the wings, believes the move will help him elevate his career to the next level.
He joins a growing list of talented youngsters attracted by Atalanta’s project and will be eager to make an impact both in Serie A and Europe’s elite club competition.
