Ghanaian defender Samson Baidoo nears RC Lens switch, set to sign five-year deal

Ghanaian international Samson Baidoo is close to joining French Ligue 1 outfit, RC Lens in the ongoing summer transfer window.The 21-year-old young Ghanaian centre-back is switching from Austrian powerhouse Red Bull Salzburg following a solid three-year spell at the club.Baidoo has already arrived in north of France to complete his move to the Ligue 1 club ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 football season. He is joining RC Lens for a transfer fee worth 8m deal, including bonuses.The talented defender expected to sign a five-year deal with RC Lens at the completion of his mandatory medical test. With both parties reaching agreement in principles, the highly-rated Ghanaian centre-back is expected sign on the dotted lines in the coming days.Salzburg subsequently received delegations from two Premier League sides who were willing to offer more than Lens. However, the defender opted to joins the French outfit upon conversation with Austrian-Ghanaian defender Kevin Danso, a former player of Lens.The 21-year-old has cappped once for the Austrian national team since making his debut back in 2023.
