Italian-Ghanaian midfielder Justin Kumi joins US Avellino on loan
Justin Kumi has joined Italian side US Avellino on loan from Serie A club Sassuolo, bringing added strength and promise to the Irpinia clubs midfield.Avellino confirmed the move in an official statement: US Avellino 1912 announces that it has acquired the rights to the sporting performances of the footballer Justin Kumi from US Sassuolo Calcio, on a temporary basis.Kumi, born in Castelfranco Veneto on July 16, 2004, developed through the youth ranks of Sassuolo and earned his first Serie A minutes in the 2023/24 campaign. Last season, the Italian-Ghanaian made 11 appearances in Serie B, playing for both Sassuolo and Reggiana.His switch to Avellino marks a strategic step for both player and club. Avellino, managed by Raffaele Biancolino, topped Serie C Group C last season with 75 points from 34 games and are preparing for life in Serie B.With his pace, passing, and vision, Kumi is expected to play a key role in the clubs ambitions to push further up the Italian football ladder.
