Kofi Adams raises red flag over encroachment at Borteyman Sports Complex
Ghanas Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, has expressed deep concern over ongoing land encroachment at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.On Monday, the Minister, alongside Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), visited the facility to assess the current state of the complex built for the 13th African Games.During the inspection, the Minister expressed deep concern about ongoing unauthorized developments around the sports centre, which is meant to be a hub for sports infrastructure in Ghana.He warned land encroachers to steer clear of the area, stating that the land was officially secured for sporting purposes.Clearly you can see behind and in front of me standing here that encroachers have virtually taken over the pace in the last three months and developing rapidly, as aired by Peace FMThis is not right this is absolutely wrong and I want to send a message to all those who either are paying for land in this area this space from where the wall is for the facilities all the way to the stream which serves as a boundary.The land was acquired from the University of Ghana for the purposes of developing sports infrastructure not to continue with this developement,
