Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren admits losing focus against South Africa
[caption id=attachment_1247784 align=alignnone width=665] Kim Lars Bjrkegren[/caption]Head coach of the Black Queens, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, says his teams defeat to South Africa in their opening 2024 WAFCON Group C clash was largely due to a lapse in concentration. The Queens started brightly but conceded two quick goals in the first half through Linda Motlhalo and Jermaine Seoposenwe.Despite creating chances in the second half, Ghana failed to convert, hitting the post twice and being denied by South Africas goalkeeper Andile Dlamini. We were the better team the first half hour until the goal came, Bjorkegren said after the game. They scored from the penalty, it came from nowhere. After that, we gave them the opportunity to score another one and that is a problem. We lost a little bit of concentration. While disappointed by the result, the Swedish coach was satisfied with the teams overall effort.Otherwise, I think the performance was pretty good. We knew we were playing the previous champions maybe the toughest game we can play, he added. The Black Queens will aim to bounce back when they face Mali on July 11, before wrapping up their group stage against Tanzania.
