Ghana coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren disappointed with defeat to South Africa in 2024 WAFCON opener
The head coach of the Black Queens of Ghana, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, was left disappointed on Monday evening after his side lost 2-0 to South Africa in their opening match at the 2024 CAF Womens Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).Speaking in his post-match interview, the coach said although he was disappointed with the outcome of the match at full-time, he was not disappointed with the performance of his players.Of course, Im a little bit disappointed with the result, but not so disappointed with the performance. As I said, it was going to be a close game, and I think it was, Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren said.Following Ghanas 2-0 defeat to South Africa in their opening Group C match, the Black Queens are bottom of the group standings.The Black Queens are now under pressure to beat Mali in their second group game on Friday, July 11.Coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren is confident that his team will earn the needed results in the next two games to advance to the knockout stage.
