Ragnar Ache's brace not enough as Kaiserslautern fall to Paderborn in eight-goal thriller
Ragnar Ache's impressive double couldn't prevent Kaiserslautern from suffering a 5-3 defeat to Paderborn in a pulsating Bundesliga 2 clash at the Home Deluxe Arena.Paderborn raced into a three-goal lead within the opening 15 minutes, with Aaron Zehnter, Raphael Obermair, and Filip Bilbija all finding the net. Kaiserslautern, however, clawed their way back before halftime, as Daniel Hanslik converted a penalty in the 45th minute before Ache struck in stoppage time to make it 3-2.The German-Ghanaian forward continued his fine form after the break, leveling the score in the 61st minute with a well-placed header from a Luca Sirch corner. However, Kaiserslauterns hopes of a comeback were dashed when Adriano Grimaldi restored Paderborns lead in the 73rd minute. Zehnter sealed the win deep into stoppage time with his second of the game.Ache now has 15 goals in 22 league appearances this season. Kaiserslautern will look to bounce back when they face Fortuna Dsseldorf on March 29.
