
Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu believes veteran coach Sellas Tetteh and his backroom staff deserve greater recognition for their remarkable success with Ghanas U-20 team.
Tetteh, who previously coached the Black Starlets and the Local Black Stars, was appointed head coach of the Black Satellites and led them to an unforgettable triumph.
Under his guidance, the team won the 2009 African Youth ChampionshipGhanas first title in the competition since 1999securing their place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Later that year, Tetteh made history by steering the Black Satellites to victory at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Ghana defeated Brazil in a dramatic penalty shootout, becoming the first African nation to lift the prestigious trophy.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Agyemang-Badu emphasized the need to honor Tettehs achievements.
Sellas Tetteh and his team did a wonderful job for Ghana and deserve much more recognition. One year, three trophies, he said.Beyond his U-20 triumph, Tetteh has also served as caretaker coach of the Black Stars and managed national teams, including Rwanda and Sierra Leone.
