Kurt Okraku pledges to drive African football forward after CAF ExCo election
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has vowed to work tirelessly to advance African football following his election to the Confederation of African Footballs (CAF) Executive Committee.Okraku was elected unopposed to serve on CAFs top decision-making body from 2025 to 2029 as the representative of WAFU Zone B.His election cements his influence in African football governance, adding to his roles as GFA President and WAFU Zone B President.In a statement on his official Facebook page, Okraku described his election as an honour and pledged to serve with dedication and integrity.I am honoured to serve Ghana, WAFU, and CAF, and I pledge to work tirelessly to promote the development of African football and contribute meaningfully to the game across the continent, he wrote.Okraku expressed gratitude to former President John Dramani Mahama and his government for their support, as well as Sports Minister Kofi Iddie Adams for his backing. He also acknowledged the role played by the GFA Executive Council, staff, and the WAFU Zones A and B.To the entire football fraternity in Ghana and across Africathank you for your continued support, belief, and love for the game. This accomplishment is as much yours as it is mine, he added.His election places him among the key figures shaping the future of African football, and he has promised to uphold the trust placed in him.
