Fred Acheampong: Ghanaians should be proud of Okrakuâ??s CAF ExCo election

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member Fred Acheampong has called on Ghanaians to take pride in the election of GFA President Kurt Okraku to the Confederation of African Footballs (CAF) Executive Committee.Okraku was elected to represent WAFU Zone B on the CAF Executive Committee during the CAF Congress in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.Speaking on Sporty FM, Acheampong described the achievement as a moment of national pride.All Ghanaians should take pride in Kurt Okrakus election as a CAF Executive Committee member, he said.He also dismissed suggestions that Okrakus focus would be limited to WAFU Zone B, stressing that his role will contribute to football development across the entire continent.Kurt Okraku is not on the CAF Executive Committee to represent WAFU B alone. He is there as a Ghanaian to help develop African football as a whole, Acheampong added.Okraku now holds three key positions in football administration: WAFU Zone B President, GFA President, and CAF Executive Committee member.
