Owusu Kwabena scores as Ankaragücü share spoils with Kocaelispor
Ankaragc and Kocaelispor played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in their Turkish 1.Lig Round 29 clash, with Ghanaian striker Owusu Kwabena making his mark once again.Ankaragc struck first in the 26th minute when Dorin Rotariu set up Kwabena, who finished clinically to put the visitors ahead. The Ghanaian forward was a lively presence throughout, causing problems for the Kocaelispor defense.The home side struggled to break down Ankaragcs defense in the first half and went into the break trailing. Ankaragc thought they had doubled their advantage in the 66th minute when Kwabena found the net again, but VAR ruled the goal out for offside.Kocaelispor finally responded in the 79th minute when Bar Alcs precise cross found Marcao, who powered a header past the goalkeeper to restore parity. Both sides pushed for a winner, but neither could find a decisive breakthrough.Kwabena has now scored three goals in six league appearances this season. Ankaragc will next face Igdir FK on March 15th as they continue their push for a better position in the league.
