Previous GFA leadership wanted to appoint Winfried Schafer - Osei Palmer reveals
Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, Osei Palmer, has revealed that the previous GFA leadership had plans to appoint Winfried Schafer as a technical advisor.According to Palmer, Schafer's expertise and experience would have been a valuable asset to the Black Stars.Even during our time, we had plans to bring him on board. A technically good coach remains technically good, Palmer said in an interview with Sporty FM.Palmer's revelation comes after Schafer was recently appointed as the new technical advisor of the Black Stars, tasked with augmenting the technical team headed by Otto Addo.The 75-year-old tactician, who guided Cameroon to victory in the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations, will look to help Ghana turn their fortunes around in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March against Chad and Madagascar.
