Ghana defender Nathaniel Adjei rejoins FC Lorient training after injury layoff
FC Lorient have been boosted by the return of centre-back Nathaniel Adjei ahead of their weekend fixture against Troyes on Friday.Having picked up an ankle injury during his debut game for Ghana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger on November 18, 2024.The 22-year-old versatile defender underwent a successful surgery in December.Adjei linked up with his colleagues on Wednesday, as the Orange lads gear up for Fridays French Ligue 2 encounter against Troyes.It remains to be seen whether Adjei will play any part in the clash at Stade de lAube.Adjei, who can play as one of three central defenders or as a right-back, will be hoping to bounce back from a difficult season and become a mainstay in Olivier Pantaloni's starting lineup.FC Lorient acquired the highly touted guardsman from Swedish club Hammarby on a contract until June 2026, with the deal allegedly valued around 7.2 million.
