Brisbane Roar attack strengthened with Asumah Abubakarâ??s arrival
Brisbane Roar has bolstered its attacking lineup with the signing of 27-year-old forward Asumah Abubakar from Grasshopper Club Zurich.The Ghanaian-born former Portuguese U-19 international arrives with a strong reputation for pace, technical skill, and goal-scoring prowess.Abubakars career started in the Netherlands at Willem II before he moved to MVV Maastricht in the Eredivisie. His breakthrough came in Switzerland, where he impressed at SC Kriens, earning a move to FC Lugano in 2021. He later joined FC Luzern, netting 17 goals in 62 appearances before transferring to Grasshopper Club Zurich.With close to 100 appearances in the Swiss Super League, Abubakars experience and attacking mindset make him a key addition to the Roar.We are delighted to welcome Asumah to our football club.
