GFA trains scouts on Safeguarding and Integrity to protect young footballers
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a significant step toward enhancing the safety and well-being of young footballers by organizing a comprehensive safeguarding and integrity training for scouts from five regions in the southern sectorGreater Accra, Central, Western, Eastern, and Volta.As part of its mandate, the GFA is committed to equipping scouts with the technical expertise needed to handle and nurture young talents. This initiative reinforces the associations dedication to fostering a safe environment, free from abuse and harm, particularly for young players in Ghanaian football.The training focused on key areas such as creating safe spaces for young footballers and player protection, educating scouts on how to safeguard young players from agents seeking to exploit them.This initiative aligns with FIFA and CAFs efforts to prioritize youth protection in sports. It was led by GFA Safeguarding Officer Obed Tuffuor, who emphasized the importance of safeguarding young players while promoting excellence and safety in Ghanaian football.The GFA remains committed to expanding these safeguarding initiatives across all regions of Ghana. This training is just one step in a broader effort to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and integrity in Ghanaian football, he stated.
