
The draw for the first-ever CAF Women's Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025, will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Cairo, Egypt, at 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT). The event will be broadcast live on CAF TV, the official YouTube channel of the Confdration Africaine de Football (CAF).
This marks a significant milestone in the buildup to the tournament, which is scheduled to run from April 22 to April 30, 2025.
The competition will feature the nine strongest women's futsal teams on the continent and serve as the African qualifier for the 2025 FIFA Women's Futsal World Cup in the Philippines. Africa will be represented by two teams in the global tournament, which is set to take place from November 21 to December 7, 2025.
Qualified Teams for the Women's Futsal AFCON:- Morocco (Host) Angola Cameroon Egypt Guinea Madagascar Namibia Senegal Tanzania
The nine teams will be drawn into three groups (A, B, and C), each consisting of three teams. Morocco, as the host nation, is automatically assigned to position A1 in Group A.
- The three group winners and the best second-placed team will advance to the semi-finals. The other two runners-up will contest a playoff for fifth place. A ranking of the third-placed teams will determine the seventh and ninth positions.
The draw will be conducted using four pots:
- Pot 1: Angola, Cameroon, Egypt, Guinea, Madagascar, Namibia, Senegal, Tanzania. Pot 2: Determines the teams for positions B1 and C1. Pot 3: Assigns teams to positions A2, B2, and C2. Pot 4: Determines teams for positions A3, B3, and C3.
Morocco is automatically placed in A1, while the remaining teams will be drawn into their respective slots.
The draw will set the stage for a historic tournament as women's futsal takes a significant step forward on the African continent.
