GFA is a different institution â?? Oloboi Commodore on first class travel ban
[caption id=attachment_583509 align=alignnone width=600] Oloboi Commodore[/caption]In response to President John Mahama's directive prohibiting government appointees from traveling first classa policy reiterated by Sports Minister Kofi Adamsthe Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been urged to comply.Adams emphasized that the GFA should align with the government's commitment to responsible governance.He stated, Even yesterday [Friday, February 7] at our swearing-in, what did His Excellency the President say? He said foreign travels are banned, and where necessary, they must be cleared with the Chief of Staff. Anyone cleared to travel should not fly first classat best, business class.However, Oloboi Commodore, a prominent football administrator, highlighted the GFA's autonomy in this matter.He remarked, GFA is a separate institution; it is not a government institution, so if GFA is traveling and they are taking first class, the sports minister cannot stop them. So if GFA doesn't have money for Black Stars and they are given money from the government, if you go and get money from someone, it is not your money. But if it is your own money, the President of the FA travels outside with a first class, there is no problem. But if you take government money to travel and government says don't take first class, use economy, if you don't do it, it means you are not respectful.
