We will show you we are Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak - IMC chairman Nana Apinkra to GFA
Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, Chairman of Asante Kotokos Interim Management Committee, has strongly criticized the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its perceived lack of respect toward the club and Hearts of Oak.During a meeting with a GFA delegation led by General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, Apinkrah expressed frustration over the associations delayed response following the tragic death of Kotoko fan Francis Nana Pooley Frimpong, who was stabbed during a league match against Nsoatreman FC.Apinkra claimed the association does not value the two most successful clubs in Ghana, which he thinks is not right. It would have been nice if GHALCA had come here for this meeting earlier before the IGP even did, Apinkra said. For the GFA, we know they don't value us but we will force you to respect us whether you like it or not. We will show you we are Kotoko and Hearts. What we seek is for the security measures and our requests to be addressed before we can resume the league. We can't say we won't play the league again. We will play, but only if the security measures are put in place. We will make sure we go all lengths to ensure this.So far, seven people have been arrested and are facing prosecution at the Sunyani District Court.
