Hooliganism mars Wamanafo vs. Bofoakwa Tano Division One clash
In a disturbing incident, referees were assaulted by fans of Wamanafo Mighty Royals following their Division One League match against Bofoakwa Tano.The home supporters accused the match officials of biased officiating, leading to a violent confrontation. The club condemned the act, stating, The management of Wamanafo Mighty Royals condemns the act and we solemnly express our displeasure against the act of the supporters. They further assured, We are currently assisting the police on all necessary investigations to bring the culprits into justice.This incident coincided with a vigil in Kumasi for the late Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley, who was fatally stabbed during a Premier League match against Nsoatreman FC. At the vigil, Interim Management Committee Chairman Nana Akwasi Apinkra Awuah urged fans to remain calm and allow the authorities to handle the investigation. He emphasized, Don't act on what you have heard and what someone has done.
