Samuel Obeng makes Wydad Athletic Club debut in league victory

Ghanaian forward Samuel Obeng made his debut for Wydad Athletic Club, featuring in the final minutes of their 2-0 victory over Hassania in the Botola Pro League.The 27-year-old, who recently joined the Moroccan giants as a free agent from Portuguese side Casa Pia, was introduced in the closing stages of the game.Despite his brief time on the pitch, he completed two passes, had four touches, and won an aerial duel.Wydads latest win is their fourth in a row, moving them to fourth place in the 16-team league standings with 36 points, 13 behind leaders RS Berkane.Obengs outing against Hassania marked his 14th appearance of the 2024-25 season, having previously played 11 league games and two Portuguese Cup matches before switching clubs.With experience in Spains lower divisions for teams such as Real Oviedo, Oviedo Vetusta, and SD Huesca, he will be eager to establish himself in Morocco.Wydad will face SCCM on February 16 in their next league fixture.
