San Diego FC sign Ghanaian defender Willy Kumado
San Diego FC have signed Ghanaian defender Willy Kumado ahead of their inaugural season in the Major League Soccer.The Right to Dream Academy graduate signed a two-year-deal with options through to 2027 and 2028. He joins the club from Danish outfit Lyngby Boldklub, where he spent the last two season, making 51 appearances for the club.The 22-year-old will occupy the International Roaster slot and will be added to the squad pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.Were excited to welcome Willy to SDFC and back into the Right to Dream family, said SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps.He is a fullback who can impact the game through his pace and technical qualities that we believe translate very well to MLS.His previous experience at RTD Ghana and FC Nordsjaelland will allow him to settle quickly into the playing style. Were looking forward to getting him in market and introducing him to the rest of the group.Kumado started his career at the Right to Dream Academy before moving to Denmark to join FC Nordsjaelland and subsequently Lyngby.
