Asante Kotoko to hold one-week observance for late supporter Nana Pooley

Asante Kotoko have received permission from the family of Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, to hold a one-week observance in his memory.The event is scheduled for Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Heroes Park, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.Pooley, a devoted Kotoko supporter, was fatally stabbed in Nsoatre during Kotokos Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman FC, a game overshadowed by violence.A vigil was held in his honour on Sunday, attended by fans, players, coaches, and the clubs management.His tragic death has drawn widespread condemnation, leading to the suspension of the league and calls for major reforms from clubs in a meeting with the Ghana Football Association.Several suspects, including Nsoatreman FC owner and former Sunyani West MP, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, have been arrested and granted bail as investigations continue.
