[caption id=attachment_1222466 align=alignnone width=1920] Roc Nation to set up base in Ghana[/caption]Roc Nation Sports, a global powerhouse in entertainment and sports management, has announced its expansion into West Africa, with Ghana as its next key destination. The agency is credited for elevating athletes' careers on and off the field, including endorsement deals, philanthropic endeavors and more. This is exciting news, as local talent will have the opportunity to secure lucrative, career-boosting contracts.Speaking at a recent press conference in Cape Town, Global Director of Football Recruitment at Roc Nation, Nathan Campbell, revealed:As part of our wider strategy for Africa, Michael (Yormark) and I are actually travelling over to Ghana, he said.We are looking at West Africa as a centre point to our wider African strategy because, like I touched on earlier, the continent is rich of talent. And for us, we've seen agencies try to do it, but not do it to not only a good level, but just making it a transaction. As you guys will be familiar with, Michael's done a fantastic job with the team down here to show that we don't want to be a transactional agency. We don't just want to do that in South Africa. We want to take that emphasis across the continent because it's important that if we're taking talent out of the communities, we're giving back in some way.So, although the key goal is to obviously unearth, nurture and develop the best talents to move to Europe, we also don't want to forget about those wider communities, as we've done here in South Africa. So, for us, it's important that South Africa is obviously a centre point to that because it's where we have a natural base.Obviously, we have some fantastic rugby players. So, it wouldn't make sense not to start at this point. But the wider vision is to really become a driving force as an agency across the whole continent.
