In a heartfelt display of unity, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak supporters gathered in Kumasi to honor the late Francis Yaw Frimpong, affectionately known as Pooley.Pooley, a devoted Kotoko fan, tragically lost his life after being fatally stabbed during a violent altercation following Kotoko's Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman FC.At the vigil, fans and leaders from both clubs held candles in solidarity. Hearts of Oak's National Chapters Committee Public Relations Officer, Kobby Jones, emphasized the deep bond between the rival supporters:Our brother Francis that we all know as Pooley, what Ghanaians should know is that Kotoko and Hearts fans, we are brothers. We talk together, we play together. What happened to our brother can happen to a Hearts supporter. So if something like this happens, I think we all have to come together and then take possession like we all know what Kotoko is going through now, he told Peace FM as monitored by Ghanasoccernet.comHe further highlighted the collaborative efforts between the clubs:When this matter came up for the first time, Hearts of Oak leaders and Kotoko leaders met and did a meeting bothering on security. The unity, that is what we the supporters want. What is going on now at match venues, we should fight for a common cause.Jones also addressed the challenges faced by both clubs' supporters:Because if we go to venues, teams that suffer very well is Kotoko and Hearts because our followers are many. So when you go to a venue, the way you will be intimidated and the way they will handle you, I don't think the other smaller teams go through this. So if a matter like this happens, we should all come together.
