Brighton 'happy' to have Kaoru Mitoma in the team - Tariq Lamptey
Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey has expressed his happiness that Brighton and Hove Albion teammate Kaoru Mitoma remains with the team despite receiving a lucrative transfer offer from Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr.The Japanese international was reportedly the subject of a $64 million bid from Al-Nassr, but Brighton turned down the offer to retain the winger.Lamptey shared his thoughts during a post-match interview following Brightons 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the fourth round of the FA Cup.The Ghanaian full-back, who delivered an exceptional performance from the left-back position and was named Man of the Match, praised Mitoma for his decisive contribution.Mitoma scored the winning goal by expertly controlling a difficult ball on his chest before slotting it past Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. It was a fantastic goal, we know what qualities he has a player and he is a great person as well so yeah we are really happy to have him, Lamptey said of Mitoma.Lamptey himself attracted transfer interest during the recently closed window, with reports linking him to a potential move to Ajax Amsterdam.However, the Ghanaian international also stayed at Brighton, continuing his strong form for the team.
