Black Princesses coach Charles Sampson sets sights on building a dominant team
Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson has outlined his long-term vision of assembling a formidable team capable of competing and winning on the international stage.Sampson, who took charge of the team last month, emphasized the need for a strong team culture, disciplined tactical structure, and a competitive mindset.Speaking to the GFAs official website, he expressed confidence in the talent at his disposal but acknowledged the need for improvement in key areas.Technically, I was amazed to see the sort of talent we have, he said. But I noticed that we lack in tactical areas and the physical aspect of the game. Individual talent is there in abundance, but to get the team to function as a unit is something we need to work on.With Ghanas U-20 womens team having a history of qualifying for the FIFA U-20 Womens World Cup, Sampsons priority is not just to qualify but to ensure the team makes it past the group stage for the first time. Our first priority is to qualify for the World Cup, then we also have another goal, which is to progress beyond the group stage for the first time, he added. Im humbled with the appointment, and I will do the best I can to bring success to my country.
