John Ansah, President of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has condemned the violent death of Francis Yaw Frimpong, a staunch supporter of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, describing it as barbaric and a tragedy that should never be repeated.Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley, died following a violent incident during a Week 19 match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at the Nana Kromansah Park.Speaking during a meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Ansah stressed the need for stringent measures to ensure safety at football venues.Its a sad day for us in football circles. What happened to our brother is barbaric and shouldnt happen again, he said.He commended the police for their swift response and assured them of full cooperation from the football fraternity.The incident has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about security in the Ghana Premier League.The Ghana Police Service has since arrested six suspects in connection with the violence.Both the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the clubs involved have condemned the attack, calling for immediate reforms to prevent future occurrences.
