Former Nsoatreman GM Eric Alagidede defends Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah amidst allegations
Former Nsoatreman FC General Manager, Eric Alagidede, has come to the defense of his ex-boss, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, following allegations linking him to the violent events at Nana Koramansah II Park over the weekend.The Ghana Premier League match-day 19 clash between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC turned violent, with players from both sides engaging in heated confrontations early in the second half. Asante Kotoko had two players sent off and Nsoatreman had one player sent off.Tragically, the violence led to the fatal stabbing of staunch Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as 'Nana Pooley'. The shocking incident has sparked national outrage, with three individuals, including Nsoatreman FC bankroller Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, now under investigation for allegedly instigating the attack.Speaking on Sporty FM, Alagidede insisted Awuah is a peaceful individual and a longtime Asante Kotoko supporter.He is passionate about football but would never incite violence. He has even contributed financially to Kotoko, Alagidede emphasized.The case remains under investigation as authorities seek justice for the slain fan.
