Accra Lions CEO fears Nsoatre tragedy will worsen poor stadia attendance
Nana Obiri Yeboah, CEO of Accra Lions, has expressed concerns that the recent violence at a Premier League match in Nsoatre could further deter fans from attending games.The incident resulted in the death of an Asante Kotoko supporter and has led to the suspension of the league.I don't know what we're going to do to convince the public, who are already not happy with the Ghana Premier League brand, to go to stadiums after what happened in Nsoatre, Yeboah said.He noted that the Ghana Premier League brand is already struggling to attract fans, and this incident will only make things worse.Yeboah also expressed concern about the financial implications of Asante KOTOKOs decision to withdraw from the competition until justice is served. Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana. If they withdraw from the league, it'll really be costly, he said.In related news, the President of Nsoatreman has been restricted from traveling and ordered to submit his passport to the court registry. Two other suspects have been granted bail and remanded in police custody.
