Koforidua Semper Fi join campaign against hooliganism after Kotoko fanâ??s death
Division One League side Koforidua Semper Fi have added its voice to the campaign against hooliganism following the tragic death of Asante Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong, also known as Pooley, in Nsoatre.In a statement, the club emphasized the need to protect the integrity of football, stating, Sports is meant to unite, not divide. Hooliganism is a betrayal of the game. Say no to hooliganism.Pooley was fatally stabbed during a violent altercation at Nsoatreman F.C.s home game against Kotoko on February 2, 2025. The incident has led to the arrest of former Minister Ignatius Baffour-Awuah and two others.The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Nsoatremans home venue and initiated disciplinary actions. With growing concerns over safety at match venues, clubs like Semper Fi are pushing for stricter measures to prevent further tragedies in Ghanaian football.
