Wife of slain Kotoko fan struggles to come to terms with husbandâ??s death
The wife of Francis Frimpong, the Asante Kotoko fan tragically killed during their Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman FC, is struggling to accept his death.Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, was fatally stabbed during a violent clash at the Nana Kormansah II Stadium on Sunday in their matchday 19 fixture.Speaking to LUV FM, his grieving wife, Yaa Gifty, expressed her devastation, revealing that she was eagerly awaiting her husband's return to Kumasi after the game.He told me he was going to watch the game. I am waiting for my husband, and I have left everything to God, she said through tears.She recounted their last conversations, saying, When the bus set off, he called. He did the same when he arrived. Even when he told me he was not being allowed into the stadium, I reassured him he would go in. At 3 p.m., my husband had died, and I had no idea.Following the tragic incident, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended the league starting from Matchday 20 and scheduled an emergency meeting with club representatives and supporters' leadership to address the crisis.
