Nsoatreman FC owner Ignatius Baffour Awuah accused of inciting fans in Asante Kotoko's fan death
[caption id=attachment_1221001 align=alignnone width=1080] Ignatius Baffour Awuah[/caption]A Communications Team member of Asante Kotoko, Seth Nii Darko has blamed Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman FC for the violence that erupted on Sunday.The Matchday 19 fixture staged at the Nana Kronmansah Park was marred with violence after players and officials exchanged blows.Unfortunately, a fan of Asante Kotoko known asFrancis Yaw Frimpongpopularly known as Nana Pooley has been stabbed to death.In an interview with Asempa FM, Nii Darko blamed the former Employment and Labour Relations Minister for the fracas that happened which led to the death of a football fan.According to Nii Darko, the formerSunyani West Constituency Member of Parliament incited his fans which led to the unfortunate incident.What happened during the game is unacceptable. Ignatius Baffour Awuah, during the game, was seen inciting his fans to interrupt the game. We saw him inviting Kwesi Appiah, but we asked him not to go, he said.After that, the fans demanded that Pooley leave the stadium and he did that even without wearing his Asante Kotoko jersey due to how the situation was tense and in less than 10 minutes, we were informed that he had been stabbed.We informed Ignatius Baffour Awuah of what had happened, and he failed to show up. He hasnot even reached out to the management of Asante Kotoko to find out exactly what happened.The issue is currently in the hands of the police and we hope the right thing will be done, he added.Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will hold an emergency meeting with Premier League clubs, stakeholders and supporters groups on Thursday and Friday respectively.Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Donkor has been tasked to lead the investigations following the violent incident.
