GFA charges Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC for misconduct
The Ghana Football Association has charged Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC for misconduct following the ugly scenes from their Premier League matchday 19 encounter in Nsuatre.Players and officials from both teams clashed in the second half of the match, leading to the referee sending off Justic Blay, Mohammed Camara and Stephen Diyou.Fans threw missiles onto the pitch during the moment of madness between the two sides, with a supporter later confirmed dead after he was stabbed.The FA in a statement released on Monday morning charged both clubs for misconduct after failing to control their players.Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC have been charged with a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League regulations, 2019, and section 16 (1)(e) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019. following their matchday 19 Ghana Premier League game, the statement read.It is alleged that both clubs failed to control their players, resulting in a brawl, which constitutes misconduct and brings the name of the game in disrepute.The Ghana FA disciplinary committee has given both clubs until February 5 to respond while further investigations continue.The game ended with the hosts, Nsoatreman FC, defeating the Porcupine Warriors 1-0 at the Nana Kronomansah Park in Nsuatre.
