Hearts of Oak coach Kim Grant has five league matches to save his job, board member Elvis Heman Hesse has revealed.
Grant has come under fire after Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Asante Kotoko in the President Cup.
''We think the coach is fantastic, one of the best we have in the system now, we are not too much in a hurry to say he should leave because he has lost to Kotoko or he didn't perform well in some few matches,'' Hesse told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.
''Sometimes misunderstanding will occur especially when we suggest to the coach and he fails to listen that doesn't mean he should be shown the exit with some few days to the start of the league.
''I will not encourage the supporters to drum home that he should be fired.
''Whether he will stay or not will depend on his performance in the league, especially in the first 5 games, we will judge him with his performance for those matches.
''If he fails , we will assess his performance especially after the first 5 league matches, that will be the best time to determine his fate.''
Hearts of Oak open their season with a home game against Berekum Chelsea.
