


Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation has been re-elected Vice President and Board Member of the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF) for the second time at an elective congress in Bulgaria.
The renowned sports administrator, who serves as President of the Africa Armwrestling Federation, is set to continue his role for the next four years.
His re-election follows the significant growth of the sport across the continent and his influential role in the development of the global governing body.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Asibey expressed gratitude to the delegates for their trust and reaffirmed his commitment to helping armwrestling secure its place on the global sporting calendar.
“I thank the team for the trust to continue as Vice President of the World Armwrestling Federation. The agenda will not end here. This is the time to grow the sport and make Armwrestling a leading sport in the world, He added.
Charles Osei Asibey is a broadcast journalist with over 25 years of working experience in the industry having worked with Radio Gold, Groove FM now Adom FM, Peace FM, Happy FM, Radio 360, and Asempa FM having contributed writing for Graphic Sports, Ghanaweb and other online portals.
Charles is the General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Communications Director of the Ghana Olympic Committee, and has served on the board of several sports Federations.
