Kennedy Agyapong
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate hopeful and former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is set to officially file his nomination to contest in the party’s 2026 presidential primaries elections.
Mr. Agyapong will submit his completed forms to the party’s national headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. The confirmation was given by Nhyiaeso MP, Stephen Amoah, a leading member of his campaign team, who revealed that Mr. Agyapong will personally lead his entourage to the filing.
He was the first aspirant to secure nomination forms for the January 31, 2026, primaries, after a delegation of NPP legislators — including Kwaku Kwarteng (Obuasi West), Charles Forson (Tema West), Stephen Amoah (Nhyiaeso), and Lawrence Agyinsam (Hemang Lower Denkyira) — picked them up on his behalf on August 5.
Having finished second to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the party’s 2024 flagbearer contest, Mr. Agyapong is once again considered one of the frontrunners.
