Taking advantage of the lenient positions of Western powers and the United Nations toward it and its regional sponsors, the terrorist RSF Janjaweed militia is continuously escalating its war of aggression against the people, state, national institutions, and infrastructure of Sudan.
In this context, the terrorist militia has committed a heinous crime this morning by setting the Khartoum Refinery in the Gari area ablaze. This terrorist act came after the militia realized it could no longer hold on to the area, having been besieged by the Sudanese Armed Forces and supporting forces, after they managed to cross the massive minefields the Militia had planted around the refinery.
This senseless crime not only reflects the desperation and psychological defeat the Militia is experiencing, but is also a clear war crime and one of the worst forms of terrorism. It once again confirms that the Militia is deliberately and systematically targeting the pillars of development, essential services, and modern life in the country. The new crime came shortly in the wake of similar attacks on electricity stations in Merowe, Al-Shawak, Sinnar, Sennjah, Dongola, and Um Dabbakir, countless water stations, agricultural machinery, irrigation channels in the Gezira Scheme, Sugar factories in Al-Genid and Sinnar, bridges, universities, banks, and commercial and economic centers in Khartoum, Wad Madani, Sennjah, Nyala, Al-Fasher, and Al-Geneina. All of these attacks aim to displace the Sudanese population, as part of the terrorist militia’s genocidal strategy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that this heinous crime is yet another nail in the coffin of the criminal militia, following a series of devastating military, political, and moral defeats it was dealt. The Sudanese people, who have displayed great deal of resilience and courage, are fully capable of recovering all that has been lost in this war that was imposed upon them.
We reiterate our call to all members of the international community to take the morally correct stance by condemning this barbaric act and holding the terrorist militia and its sponsors accountable.
