Samira dining with the market women
SECOND LADY, Samira Bawumia, has passionately appealed to the electorates to retain the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in power during the December 7 elections.
She strongly argued that the NPP is by far good managers of the economy, and the running of the country than the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In this regard, Samira Bawumia implored the electorates, especially the market women in the country, to throw their weight behind the NPP during the impending polls.
She said available records and statistics show that the country always retrogresses whenever the NDC is in office, so the electorates should again reject the NDC in 2024.
“On December 7, we would have the chance to choose the progress of the country against the retrogression we want to avoid, and this would be a clear choice between the competent Dr. Bawumia and the NDC leader.
“But I’m confident that together with you, we will choose the NPP, and hand over another term to them so as to continue with policies that would provide job security, employment for the youth, and better living conditions for all,” she entreated.
Samira joined the scores of traders at the Kumasi Central Market to share meals, and also sit together on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 to usher in the New Year.
The Second Lady was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional Women’s wing to the merrymaking event. The programme was also graced by some NPP bigwigs in Kumasi.
Samira said even though she is a staunch Muslim, she decided to share in the joy of the Christmas and the New Year celebration of Christians “so that we could deepen the bond we share”.
She promised the market queens and traders that she would pass on their concerns to Dr. Bawumia, the Vice President, to find solutions to them.
Nana Ama Ampomah, the NPP Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser, lauded Samira for “organising and choosing to come personally to dine with the women groups and traders in the Kumasi Central Market.”
She admonished the market women to reject the propaganda and politics of blatant lies of the NDC, stressing that the NPP is the suitable party to lead the country.
