The money market in the Volta Region is gradually growing and attracting attention, but with caution to operators to hurry slowly by desisting from duping hardworking people of their savings and investments.
As the financial institutions or companies grow they have been advised to adopt best practices and strategies to safeguard the investment of people who do business with them so that mutual benefit will be there for all.
The Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, gave the advice during the inauguration of the Ho branch of ManCapital Partners, an investment bank in Ho, last Thursday.
Environment for wealth creation
He warned that the government would not tolerate any practice that would be detrimental to customers and clients of financial institutions that ended up making them poorer, adding that “we are a government that seeks to protect the interests of both individuals and corporate entities as we create the environment for wealth creation”.
Dr Letsa said the progress of the company in the financial asset market within their short existence in the region attested to the fact that the company was ready to promote and attract interest in the investment market in the region.
He further said the company had been able to build an enviable social responsibility record in the region by sinking a borehole for the people of Abutia Norvisi in the Ho West District and said it demonstrated a corporate responsibility that could attract goodwill.
Huge potential in the Volta Region
The Chief Executive Officer of ManCapital Partners, Mr Michael Allan Asare, said the extension of the company to the Volta Region justified the fact that there were huge resources in the financial industry that could be tapped into.
He said the location of the region was strategic and the bank would offer desired investment opportunities to the people.
Mr Asare urged the people to invest to earn good returns with an assurance that their investments were protected and safe.
The chairman for the function was the Paramount Chief of Shai Traditional Area, Nene Mike Gizo, who said investment was a blessing to the people.
He asked the people to nurture small things to grow, adding that ManCapital was a highly resourceful company capable of delivering in spite of competition.
The company has portfolios in fixed deposits, pensions, provident funds, investment advisory services, private equity, managed accounts, structured finance and wealth management.
Five loyal customers were rewarded at the ceremony.
